8 DAYS/7 NIGHTS (6 DAYS ON TREK)
This route is fast gaining in popularity and is considered to be one of the easiest routes up the mountain. It is the only route starting from the north side of the mountain at Rongai a small village close to the Kenya border.

The climbing conditions are drier on the northern side of the mountain and there are spectacular sweeping views over the broad flat Maasai lands. Overnights are spent camping in tents. The summit is reached via the east side of Kibo and the descent is via the Marangu route.
DAY 1: ARUSHA - MARANGU:
1400 hrs Pick up ArushaTown and transfer to Marangu be transferred to the KEYS HOTEL OR SIMILAR or similarwhere the afternoon will be spent preparing for the climb with a full briefing. Dinner and overnight at the KEYS HOTEL or similar.
DAY 2:TO FIRSTCAVE:
Drive to the start of the Rongai route close to the border with Kenya where we begin the ascent of Kilimanjaro through the RongaiForest. The first night will be overnight in tents at the first cave. (2600m.)
DAY 3:TO THIRDCAVE.
The climbing to Kikelewamoorland, is a gradual ascent and we get great views of the plains of Kenya below and the spectacular Mawenzi Tarn above. We get up to a height of 3,800 metres today where we camp for the night by the ThirdCave.
DAY 4:TO KIBO HUT.
Our climb today takes us through the lunar desert of the Saddle, the lava-covered expanse between the two peaks Mawenzi and Kibo. By the end of the day we have reached Kibo Hut at 4,700 metres where we camp overnight and rest ready for the ascent the next day.
DAY 5:TO THE SUMMIT!
We have a very early start for the final ascent, leaving the hut in the middle of the night to arrive at UhuruPeak just after dawn. It is a 4 to 5 hour slow walk up increasingly steep scree to Gillman's Point at 5,690 metres followed by a further 1 to 2 hour walk around the crater rim to UhuruPeak at 5,896 metres. You have the most incredible views of glaciers surrounding you many storeys high, and the plains of Africa stretched out below your feet. After taking in this amazing view we return by the same path past Kibo Hut and on down the Marangu Route all the way to Horombo Hut.
DAY 6: TO HOROBO/MANDARA:
Descend further continuing through Horobo to the Mandaraencampment for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7:BACK TO KEYS HOTEL OR SIMILAR:
Final descent to Marangu gate, takes us about half the day from where you will be picked up and transferred to the base Hotel. Dinner and overnight at the KEYS HOTEL or similar.
DAY 8: MARANGU – ARUSHA:
Breakfast at the Hotel.Depart any time. Check out from the hotel is 1000hrs.
ü Arusha-Moshi-Arusha transfer (non-exclusive use of vehicle)
ü 02 nights Moshi accommodation at KEYS HOTEL OR SIMILAR or similaron Half Board basis (pre/post climb)
ü 06 days/05 nights climb on Machame Route of Mount Kilimanjaro
ü All government taxes
